Il Corn Whiskey ha tutte le carte in regola per diventare popolare, ma le distillerie sembrano ignorarlo. Molti distillatori classificano questo whisky tra i prodotti senza invecchiamento buono solo come sostituto della vodka nei cocktail. Questo e' un peccato perché il corn whiskey ha grandi potenzialità e anche di più. Il corn whiskey non necessita di invecchiamento, ma può essere invecchiato. Il corn whiskey deve contenere al suo interno almeno l'80% di mais e se lo si vuole invecchiare si possono utilizzare sia botti nuove che usate.
